BLACKBIRD has been invited to screen at the 69th Berlinale International Film Festival in February 2019 as part of the Berlinale NATIVe Program.

It’s an honour for our film and this story to be recognised at an international festival of this calibre especially as it’s part of a program focusing on indigenous storytelling in the Pacific region. BLACKBIRD is one of 16 films selected.

See the press release and please drop by the Blackbird film project Facebook page for updates.

Amie will be in attendance at the festival and participating in a panel on climate change and filmmaking.

To read about the journey of making the short film BLACKBIRD and developing the feature film, Amie recently wrote an article for NITV detailing the experience: BLACKBIRD – a journey of honouring my ancestors.
